I want to become a mechanical engineer because it is something I am interested in. I enjoy creating robots and machines, and doing it for work would be fun. It also pays really well, usually making six-figures. And if I get bored or sick of a job, a degree for mechanical engineering can qualify for a huge variety of jobs. I specifically want to be an automation engineer, which deals with the automation and factory industry.
